The little game guide

Hilo: higher or lower?

One card, one decision. Hilo is a higher-or-lower card game: read the card on the table, choose your next call and see what turns up. Each prediction is a separate round.

How to play Hilo

  1. Read the current card

Cards rank from 2 through Ace. Suits do not affect the comparison. You can use Replace card to swap the current card for free.

  2. Choose your call

Set your virtual-coin stake, then choose an available Higher, Lower or Same call. Review the multiplier displayed on that button before choosing.

  3. See the result

A correct prediction returns your stake multiplied by the displayed multiplier. An incorrect prediction loses the virtual coins staked on that call. The next call starts a new round; there is no Collect step.

What happens when the ranks match?

For cards from 3 through King, the same rank wins both Higher and Lower. On a 2 or an Ace, a matching rank wins only the Same call. The available buttons and coloured rank ring show which ranks win your call.

Where does the next card come from?

Each draw uses the other 51 cards in a standard deck: the current physical card is excluded, leaving three cards of the same rank. The deck resets around the new current card for the next prediction.

Why do the available calls change?

Calls depend on the current card and payout settings. A call is offered only when a correct prediction returns at least 1.01 times its stake. Check the buttons for the current quote, or replace the card for another choice.

Is Hilo free to play?

Yes. Cheeky Comet uses free virtual coins for browser play. These coins have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash prizes. Open the arcade on your phone, tablet or desktop; no app download is needed.
