How to play Blackjack
Place your stake
Choose a virtual-coin stake and deal. You and the dealer receive two cards each; one dealer card stays face down.
Play your hand
Hit to take another card, or Stand once your hand is 12 or more. You may Double on your first two cards when they total at least 9, and Split a pair of equal value once. Insurance is offered when the dealer shows an ace.
Settle against the dealer
A natural (an ace and a ten-value card on the first two cards) pays 3:2 at the standard setting. A normal win pays 1:1, a push returns your stake, and going over 21 loses.
What does the dealer do?
The dealer draws until reaching 17 or more and stands on all 17s, including a soft 17. The dealer’s hidden card is revealed after your decisions.
How does insurance work?
When the dealer’s visible card is an ace, you can insure half your stake. If the dealer has a natural, insurance pays 2:1 and offsets the lost hand; otherwise the insurance stake is lost and the hand continues.
Are the cards random?
Each round is dealt from a committed shuffle of the six-deck shoe, revealed with the round, so the deal can be checked afterwards. Card counting across rounds does not apply.
Is Blackjack free to play?
Yes. Cheeky Comet uses free virtual coins for browser play. These coins have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash prizes. Open the arcade on your phone, tablet or desktop; no app download is needed.
